The unique apparatus is used for determination of colour fastness of all textile materials irrespective of there composition & their form (YARN fibre etc.) to the action of soap & sodium carbonate solution at 60 degree C .The principle of this is that a specimen of textile in contact with the pieces of specified adjacent fabric is mechanically agitated in a soap soda solution rinsed & dried & the hang in colour of the specimen & the stirring adjacent fabrics are assessed with standard grey scales. The round shaped apparatus consist of a Argon weld Stainless Steel water bath containing a rotor with which glass container flask of 500ml.capacity are rotated at a speed of 40 +2 rev/min &thermostatically controlled electrical heating device to heat the water bath so as to maintain the temperature of test solution in container at 60 +2 ^oC.A mechanical timer of 30 minutes is fitted for time duration of test .A soap soda solution is to be poured in flask after the temp maintain to 60^oC The given specimen is dropped in glass flask & motor is rotated at a 40rpm fixed for 30mints.The results are to be obtained & tested as per specification. Digital temperature controller with timer can be given as option.
